Community projects and activities
We are looking for ways to expand our community projects within the town.
We are happy to receive ideas from community groups, charitable organisations and other worthy causes to;
- develop existing projects,
- find people who will benefit from our projects
- develop new community generated initiatives.
Examples of the types of projects we are currently involved in are as follows:
- Community Spaces. Small gardening projects, maintenance tasks, graffiti cleaning and litter picking
- Bike Project. Bikes are renovated to be donated or sold. Income made is used to sustain the project or donated to local charities. Scrap from the project also generates money that is donated to local charities
- Painting and Decorating Projects
- Furniture restoration projects
- Woodwork projects
- Arts and Crafts
These are just a few examples of the work done. The young people are aged between 10 and 18 and are at various stages of the youth justice system. All work is supervised by staff and risk assessed.
We also engage young people on our Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme. The voluntary aspect of this award also complete community project work.
Should you be interested in any of the projects or have an idea about developing an initiative/project we are open to suggestions. Please complete the below form.
All requests will put before our volunteers who will decide on the appropriateness of each request before approval. If we are considering your project we will contact you.
