Submission criteria
Priority will be given to local artists and groups that demonstrate exciting and innovative artwork and that meet the criteria of any specified exhibition periods.
Artists will be selected on the strength of their work, the suitability of their exhibition proposal for a public gallery space serving all ages, and on whether their exhibition proposal is likely to contribute to a varied exhibition programme.
How to submit an exhibition proposal
Artists and community groups wishing to exhibit at Darlington Library Art Gallery should send an exhibition proposal including the following information:
- contact information for the artist or group
- what media their proposed exhibition will employ e.g. collage, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, print, video (please note unless you can arrange stewarding of the gallery we are unable to accept non-wall mounted work)
- quality JPEG images of the artwork
- a clear exhibition proposal including the expected themes, inspiration and techniques it would employ
If the exhibition is short-listed a meeting will be arranged to discuss the possibility of an exhibition. The artist(s)/ community group will then be contacted by e-mail or phone to inform them of whether the application has been accepted.
